Knowledge modeling for design decisions

چکیده
In this paper we share our experience in modeling and representing design knowledge relevant for engineering design decisions. An object model is used where classes definitions are used as design specifications and class instances are seen as candidate designs. The object classes are augmented with validation and evaluation information. We discuss in some detail the semantics and use of these two categories of information and its interaction with traditional constructs of sub-classing and inheritance.
